Born in 1959 to an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force, he was fourth in a line of seven children. After a tour in Viet Nam, his father retired in San Antonio where Charles lived the majority of his formative years. He attended Oliver Wendell Holmes High School and graduated in 1978. Charles educational background includes San Antonio College, Southeastern Illinois Junior College, Our Lady of The Lake University, the University of Texas at San Antonio and other private study programs.
His artistic works include; political cartoons for a syndicated newspaper in New York, New York; editorial illustrations for the San Antonio Light; textbook and other publication illustration(s) for primary as well as secondary education level students; courtroom sketches for high profile trials for media use in San Antonio as well as Houston, Texas. Additional works include producing pen and ink style illustrations to "dove-tail" with existing pen and ink engravings of the 1860's for a PBS film entitled, "The River Ran Red"; Illustrating the children book, "Alone But Not Alone"; Charles was also employed at U.T.H.S.C.S.A. as a cartoonist and Biodynamic Research Corporation in San Antonio as an illustrator producing occupant kinematic illustrations.
Currently, Charles owns his own business producing artwork for public and private clients. Some of his past works for clients include several homes in San Antonio, Austin and the Colorado Springs area. Public works include the 1999 Colorado Springs Parade of Homes; mural works for the NBA Final Four; the NIKE All Star Jam; Wendy’s- Austin, Texas; Bill Millers-Pflugerville, Texas; Barnacle Bills-San Antonio, Texas; On The Border Restaurant-San Antonio, Texas; SBC Arena-San Antonio, Texas and various other restaurants and private residences in San Antonio and Austin.
Charles feels his talent is God given and feels that using that talent in his walk with the Lord Jesus Christ is the most important aspect of his life aside from his family which includes his wife of 16 years, Rebecca, and his 6 children; Katie, Christopher, Briana, Alicia, Whitney and Yana.
